See a sea of black stone crushed
To white powder at the crest of every
Wave, returned, obsidian, to swell again
With every respiration of the moon.
Hear the crack of thin glass and snap
Of breaking branches, stepping through the grass
Of clearings near abandoned houses on
Wooded coastal bluffs above the ocean.
Smell the salt and bruised mint, the musk

The incredibly wonderful people over at the Committee to Protect Bloggers are calling on us all to observe a media fast next Thursday for Mojtaba Saminejad, the imprisoned Iranian blogger who is on a hunger strike. We shall do so.
